Australia: The Last Frontier
It has been called “the Oldest Continent,” “the Last of Lands,” and “the Last Frontier.” Australia is a country that is rich with history and culture. It is one of the largest countries on Earth but the smallest continent. With a population of 20,507,264 (Australia, 2012), less than the population of Texas, it is diverse with different cultures including its own native peoples and immigrants from all over the world. It is about 2,500 miles across. To many Americans, it seems a million miles away, on the other side of the earth and on the other side of the equator. After much research, the findings on this website show that the United States and Australia are more similar than different.
